C: Ambroxol HCl
I: Resp tract disorders w/ pathologically increased mucus viscosity, elimination of phlegm during inflammation of the nasal cavity & throat.
D: TabAdult & childn >12 yr 1st 2-3 day: 1 tab tid then 1 tab bid, 5-12 yr ½ tab bid-tid. SR capAdult & childn >12 yr 1 cap once daily. SyrAdult & childn >12 yr 10 mL tid then 10 mL bid or 5 mL tid, 5-12 yr 5 mL bid-tid, 2-5 yr 2.5 mL tid, <2 yr 2.5 mL bid. DS syrAdult & childn >12 yr 1-2 tsp tid. Childn 6-12 yr 1 tsp bid-tid, 2-6 yr ½ tsp tid, 1-2 yr ½ tsp bid. Infant dropsChildn 13-24 mth 1.25 mL bid, 7-12 mth 1 mL bid, ≤6 mth 0.5 mL bid.
A: Take immediately after meals. SR cap: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
CI: 1st trimester of pregnancy.
SP: GI ulceration.
AR: GI disturbances; transient rise in serum aminotransferase.
INT: Antitussives may impede expectoration of phlegm.
P/P: Tab 30 mg x 100's. SR cap 75 mg x 50's. Syr 15 mg/5 mL x 60 mL. DS syr 30 mg/5 mL x 60 mL. Infant oral drops 6 mg/mL x 15 mL.
Take immediately after meals. SR cap: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
